Connectivity
Xenoplanet is multi-homed with Verio,
Frontier GlobalCenter, and CRL.
This means that we maintain connections to multiple access points, with
redundant pathways to the Internet. Our Cisco routers automatically choose
the best route for data to reach a particular destination by using the
BGP4 protocol.
The Xenoplanet servers are directly
connected to Verio with a fast, OC-3c connection. When combined with
our T-3 connection to Frontier GlobalCenter and redundant connectivity
to CRL, our network features transfer speeds in excess of 200
megabit (4 times the speed of a T-3). All servers are connected
to high performance switches at 100 megabit, with low percentage utilization
to insure maximized network performance.
Our connection features quality network
equipment, including hardware by Cisco and Bay
Networks.
In an effort to continuously improve
our service, Xenoplanet constantly monitors network performance in an
effort to keep utilization at acceptable levels. Additional connectivity
is immediately added when the need arises.
